FIVE YEARS, STUCK ON MY EYES
To celebrate its fifth anniversary, Documents d’artistes Genève is presenting a three-part exhibition, a pop-up exhibition, and a rich program of events, bringing together more than 40 artists from Documents d’artistes Genève, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Occitanie, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and Centre-Val de Loire.
For this group exhibition titled Five Years, Stuck On My Eyes, I am presenting two works: a painting from the Book Paintings series and a trompe-l’œil bench. The painting is based on the cover of Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring, a book addressing soil pollution and the use of chemicals in the environment — an issue that remains strikingly relevant today, despite its first publication in 1962. The bench comes from my latest exhibition, Don’t Feed The Cat, held at Galerie Frank Elbaz in Paris in February 2026. Its surface is painted in trompe-l’œil, mimicking wood, and questions the way we pay — or fail to pay — attention to the things around us.
