POLLOCK'S FAULT

Few people are aware that the Internet works thanks to kilometres of cables linking continents via the ocean floor. We live in an abstract world in which the mechanisms behind how things work are invisible. This abstraction prevents us from grasping how the world works and, at the same time, generates an inability to discuss our contemporary realities, the choices we make as a society and their immediate or long-term effects. Starting with a series of isussed images from Hollywood blockbusters, this exhibition examines the links between capitalism and abstraction, taking in abstract art from the 1950s, the culture industry and conspiracy theory.
