5 singing italian coffee machines, motors, speakers, 30 × 110 × 30 cm, 2015

This sculpture is randomly activated approximately two times per hour. The Italian coffee pots that compose it were programmed to “sing” a song critical of labor. The song is a cover version of a Belgian punk group that was translated from French to English and sung by francophones. When the pots aren’t singing, some of them activate randomly and “slam” their lids.
